Bug Description

Hi,

I updated to Edgy via apt-get dist-upgrade and also installed upstart with a second apt-get dist-upgrade.
Now, I can boot but my GDM always fails. When I try to switch to the first VC with Ctrl-Alt-F1, nothing happens, only after reading through the Xorg-error-log by GDM, I get to the first VC. But still, I cannot change to any other VC. When I start Xorg manually, I cannot switch to any other VC than VC7 (which is locked with Xorg...)...

I hope that I helped you and you will be able to fix the problem, unfortunately I am not able to do so.

Sincerely,
Felix

Thanks for your contribution to ubuntu. Apparently that there's several bugs like your one that has been fixed since edgy. Can you install latest Linux ubuntu gutsy release and tell if you can still reproduce this bug? Thanks for any information you provide to help that bug getting fixed.

Since this bug report did not have answers during a long time, I set the status to invalid but please change the status to "new" if you can still reproduce the bug and provide needed information. Thanks for your contribution to ubuntu.
