Bug Description

Binary package hint: encfs

when encfs is installed, the fuse package is a dependancy.
Nevertheless, the /dev/fuse has no rights properly set : its group should be "fuse" and not root...
It seems to me this bug was not in 6.06.

I have the same problem (pulled in through sshfs). This seems to be a regression from Dapper.

Changed in encfs:
importance: Undecided → Medium
status: Unconfirmed → Confirmed

please file the bug again agaist the appropriate filesystems, they apparently have a wrong dependency.the fuse-utils package brings the udev rule that creates the device and sets the permissions.

Changed in fuse:
assignee: nobody → ogra
status: Confirmed → Rejected

Come again? If fuse-utils brings the rule that creates permissions, then shouldn't a permission problem w/ /dev/fuse be filed against the package fuse-utils comes from? sshfs already requires fuse-utils, so where exactly is the wrong dependancy?

Its not possible to just send this bug to the correct person? Making another bug for the same bug seems silly. :S

Its a legit problem (albeit minor), I just had it. I also had to add fuse group permissions to the primary user.
