Bug Description

https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+source/libnss-ldap/+bug/51315 has several related bugs in the Debian bug tracker, each of which contains different useful information. Malone should be able to a) have more than one bug tracked in debbugs, and b) recognise upstream bugs that have merged and deal with them (although this probably has a wider scope than this example).

Can you give any example outside of debbugs? I think this problem is debbugs-specific for the reasons given in bug 52613. (Perhaps we should special-case it.) In every other case it will be because (a) the external bugtracker is erroneously tracking the same bug in multiple reports (aka a duplicate), or (b) Launchpad is erroneously tracking multiple bugs in the same bug report.

I've read bug 52613, and I see why it's debbugs specific - other bug systems use duplicates with a master instead of merging. So special-casing looks like the solution.

We should fix this somehow, but I don't know exactly how. Marking this as Low importance, since you can still add multiple bug watches to the bug report, even though it's not linked to the debian task.
