Bug Description

I have with the Edgy Eft 6.10 a really similar problem to that posted in this thread:
https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+source/ubiquity/+bug/67950

I read somewhere else that the result of a similar bug was the complete wipe out of partitions I hope it won't be my case (but at the moment I don't know if my Windows is alright).

The install process stops at 96% (Damn!!) and it shows this:

In this context, that's unlikely to be an installer bug or even a dpkg bug; it's much more likely to be a problem with the CD or the hard disk. It may help to clean the CD/DVD, to burn the CD/DVD at a lower speed, to clean the CD/DVD drive lens (cleaning kits are often available from electronics suppliers), to check whether the hard disk is old and in need of replacement, or to move the system to a cooler environment.
