Feature Request: make "add/remove programs" have visibility of synaptic

Bug Description

more a suggestion or feature request than a bug...

"Add / remove programs" from the GNOME edgy menu does not have visibility of the packages installed through synaptic.

if i install "tux kart" through synaptic, add/remove programs does not display as checked or as package being installed. Add remove programs should have backward and forward resolution of synaptic packages.

again, not a bug, as i don't think this functionality was intended; but adding this intelligence to add/remove programs would be a nicety.

I hope that understand the problem exactly: you open gnome-app-install and then synaptic. afterwards you install a package in synapitc and g-a-i does not update it's app list?

gnome-app-install wants to be easy to use. For advanced tasks please use Synaptic.
