I tried again to Install on my G3 Powerbook and I used the TAB key to select live-powerpc and it booted up and installed properly. . . I noticed the difference when the live CD booted into Ubuntu, i.e. I had the install icon on the desktop which I did not have before; along with the power monitor etc. . .

Good luck!

Hello! Did you change the clock during the installation, or was the date very wrong (like 1904)? It would in any case be very helpful to have some log files from the install. (you will have to repeat the install attempt with the same Live CD to get them) This page contains detailed information on uploading log files: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingUbiquity/AttachingLogs

Thanks!

The problem is that your system clock is set to a bogus value (probably something in 1904) during boot. This is also bug 57952.
