<type 'exceptions.NameError'>: global name 'trans' is not defined with aptd 0.41+bzr646-0ubuntu1

Please run update-manager to update the aptdaemon package to the latest version, which already contains the fix. You can also do this by using the command line, by executing the command "sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade".

I used update-manager, but when it was installing the update, the same error occurred. I do not know if the update succeeded, but update-manager now says that everything is up to date. Running apt-get update and apt-get upgrade on the command line does not produce any new packages to install. I am not too familiar with how dpkg works, but is there a way to do a "deep" check of package versions and make sure everything is consistent?

I ran the update-manager, it says everything is up to date, but the problem
persists.... how can i help you finding the source of the probem?

A lot of people have a similar issue with 0.41+bzr646-0ubuntu2. I'm not sure if it's the exact same, but the stack trace is pretty similar. See bug 764883 for details.

It's very strange, as the error message is still about trans not being defined, but the problematic line 0.41+bzr646-0ubuntu2 is written as "self.transaction.term_attached = False" which should not have anything to do with trans. Seems to run the older version, but getting the source from the newer version.

tried using update manager no crashes this time

Updated this morning but still getting the same error.
