Same problem,
step 5 from the installer of Kubuntu 7.04 beta.
in the manual partitioning

When i chose the partition I want to use, It always say that "there is no file system chosen as root, ...(in french : "Aucun systeme de fichier n'a ete choisi comme racine. Veuillez corriger cela a partir du menu de partiionnement."

Then if i edit a partition in Ext3 and put "/" instead of "/media/hde1" it crashes.

What should I do to install it on a partition I chose (i don't want to loose anything else on my other hard drives)
I have 2 hard drives :
1 of 80gb partitionned in 4 ntfs: windows, graph, doc, temp
and
1 of 160gb partitioned in 2 in ntfs (video and images) in witch i added 2 partitioned for linux : one in ext3, the other in linux swap.

Should I go for another distribution or download something else???
Thank you
