Bug Description

now that we have python3 numpy packages the way is also open for scipy3.
I forwarded a patch to debian which adds the packages.
The python2 packages are untouched so the risk of regressions is low.

Assuming the ffe gets granted, until when should I wait for a review by the maintainers before adding it to the packages in ubuntu only?

Assuming the FFe gets granted, you shouldn't. Please see what you can do to
get a review. This should go into Debian soon too.

Thanks for working on this and getting it right Julian. I appreciate the added support for Python 3, which will really be important after 12.04 is out. As discussed in IRC, you should restore the -1buildN changelog entries so that we don't lose that information. With those changes, I approve the branch and recommend the FFe be granted.

This bug was fixed in the package python-scipy - 0.9.0+dfsg1-1ubuntu1

---------------
python-scipy (0.9.0+dfsg1-1ubuntu1) precise; urgency=low

  * add python3 packages (LP: #960595)
  * debian/rules:
    - split the build into build and install step
    - use .install files instead of direct setup.py install
