Bug Description

As the title says. If you type mail then thunderbird gets a hit. Whereas email gives nothing. I'm thinking new user here.

I have created a patch to add the necessary keywords to the desktop file. My patch adds the following line to the desktop file.

_Keywords=Email;Newsgroup;News;Feed;RSS;Client;

The keywords best describe the functionality of thunderbird.

Nekhelesh - sorry, I didn't see your patch there. I'll add the extra keywords from your patch as well

Although, I'm not sure about "client". It seems too generic and I can't think of any reason why people would search for that. I'm also not sure that "news" is needed either (aside from the fact that I don't think it makes sense for Thunderbird to appear in results for "News", it's actually covered by having "Newsgroup" in there anyway)

Chris Coulson, I basically read wikipedia about thunderbird where it described it as "Thunderbird aims to be a simple email, newsgroup and news feed client". This is why I included "client", "news" and "newsgroup".

1. However I see that only one of "newsgroup" and "new" is required since when the user starts to type new.. thunderbird will start
showing up. So you can remove "news" from the keyword.

2. As for the "client" keyword I understand it is generic and can be removed if you wish.

Summary: "news" and "client" can be removed.

I have added extra columns for these on the https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Translations/Wanted/ThunderbirdDesktop page (and similarly the https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Translations/Wanted/FirefoxDesktop was also enhanced), and sent a mail to the translators list.

  * Update globalmenu-extension to 3.2
    - Fix LP: #915888 - Formatting toolbar menu entry is inverted
    - Make uGlobalMenu::RemoveMenuObjectAt work correctly when removed items
      are not contiguous
    - Don't try to recycle an item that wasn't a separator as an item that is
      a separator, as this breaks the menu (we already ensured that the reverse
      of this couldn't happen)
  * Add Keywords entry to desktop file (LP: #973394)
    - update debian/thunderbird.desktop.in

  * Add additional keywords to desktop file
    - update debian/thunderbird.desktop.in
