This project is to make easier to run 3rd party binaries. These programs like Google Earth, Quake 4 etc. Currently the user has to set the executable bit (which many users don't know how to), or go to the command line. This simplifies the process and also allows the user to run the program as administrator (e.g. for system wide installs).
