corrupt video when using persistence

Bug Description

When displaying the installation screen the background does not render properly. All toolbars and internal windows are fine though.

I will try an attatch screenshots to better demonstrate this problem.

After some discussion with other QA testers about slow performance issues regarding persistent USB images, I decided to try to boot from a USB image which didn't have a persistent partition - All performance issues were resolved and this bug did not appear.

Not a bug with the ubuntu installer but rather the live environment.

Moving back to ubiquity, in this case, using persistence is just highlighting some kind of race condition in ubiquity-dm between the code setting the background and metacity, nothing that I can do about it in casper.

This release of Ubuntu is no longer receiving maintenance updates. If this is still an issue on a maintained version of Ubuntu please let us know.
