nuvolaplayer-client does not work. GDBus service unknown

nuvolaplayer-client whatever, does not work. The output is the following:

janus@katu ~ $ nuvolaplayer-client pause

(with different commands I get different line numbers at client.c)

I have no idea if it is related, but I got the following warning when I started the program:
