perhaps linking to something in the reviewers guide would be good? We certainly should have a HOWTO to get things imported/tell if something is imported etc.

Reckon this could be done for 1.1.8? Doesn't sound like much work.

Adding an item in the FAQ, linking to https://help.launchpad.net/VcsImports, seems a reasonable goal for 1.1.8.

Duh! I someone got the notion the FAQ was a wiki page, and that I could postpone updating it to week 4.

I was wrong, it's a proper Launchpad page, so it needs to be updated within the release cycle.

Retargeting to 1.1.9, too late to do it for 1.1.8.

code.launchpad.net has a big green "Import your project" button that links to the VcsImports wiki page. I think people wanting to know how imports work are far more likely to look there than in a FAQ in the page footer.

Maybe. Personally when I come to a new web site and am trying to work
out what it is, I commonly click the 'faq' or 'help' button before
clicking a button that promises to start a new action. I realize some
people do just go ahead and try things.

But I think it's safe to assume that imports are a common question.

Uploading a fix that just hyperlinks "Daily imports" to https://help.launchpad.net/VcsImports.

Was this actually fixed the right way? I see a comment from David on-list:

It is still unclear to me whether the page that was actually fixed:
  https://code.edge.launchpad.net/+faq
can be navigated to by users, and whether the fix should not have been instead on
  https://code.edge.launchpad.net/faq

I'd say it's a serious bug that there are two faqs purporting to describe the same topic. They should be merged.

Since the duplicated FAQ issue is reported in another bug, I close this one.
