Bug Description

knix@edu:~$ sudo apt-get install schooltool
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.

Since you only requested a single operation it is extremely likely that
the package is simply not installable and a bug report against
that package should be filed.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
schooltool: Depends: python2.4-schooltool (= 0.11.4-1ubuntu4) but it is not going to be installed
E: Broken packages

Together with Debian bug #409990, and the broken Makefile in svn [1] makes schooltool virtualy uninstallable in modern distro's.

This is a duplicate of bug #80324. It should be fixed in Gutsy, as I believe a new release of SchoolTool is planned in the near future. The Makefile works fine for me; it's probably a problem at your end.
