After upgrading to a newer version of samsung driver (20070129124018750_UnifiedLinuxDriver.tar.gz) this problem doesn't appear anymore and xsane is working fine.

Xsane crash on start after hibernation on Ubuntu 8.04 Beta with a Samsung SCX-4100 connectec and turn on, with Samsung driver 2007 07 25 Unified Linux Driver.

Xsane crashed while locating scaner Epson Perfection V100 photo, it ran fine in 7.10 and when I first upgraded to 8.10, until the first update of programs.

same here. I just installed a Samsung CLX-2160 and I don't know if the scanner driver is working properly. HOWEVER, when I start xsane as root (as mentioned in a different report), it does *not* crash. Instead, it reports "no scanner found". That may be a problem with the driver or with xsane, I'm not sure. What's important here: it doesn't crash...
