Installation gets inoperable after apparently unexpected step

Bug Description

When installing from live CD and editing partitions manually, if one edits a partition and click OK and then click "edit partition" again, the new "edit partition" window won't close because the partition resizing began meanwhile. After finishing the resizing, the installation is inoperable, apparently due to the "Edit Partition" window.

Could you please attach /var/log/syslog and /var/log/partman to this bug, following the directions in http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingUbiquity/AttachingLogs? Thanks in advance.

(If nothing else, I need to know whether you were using Ubuntu or Kubuntu or something else ... the logs should tell me that sort of thing.)

I successfully reproduced the error with virtualization (using VirtualBox). Strangely it wasn't completely easy to reproduce it. Maybe it's not some unexpected step, but more like a concurrency problem of some type (but note that my knowledge about the internals of this packages is almost none).

Before running the install, i chose to use Gnome Partition Editor to create 2 partitions (it was an empty virtual HDD). Then i started the Install and while editing some times the two partitions, the Edit Partition dialog and the Installation window stopped responding (not a freeze, but couldn't close, abort, anything)

A disk error (not physical, obviously) was reported after some editing of the partitions, before the "bug", but it didn't happen when i reported the bug, so i think it's not related.

Here is the syslog:
