Thank you for your bug report. Can you please attach a screenshot of the problem you discribed. Can you also provide us with step by step instructions on how to reproduce this issue. I am able to log into my hotmail account without problems. What video card and drivers are you using?

well I have the same problem, except mine are white lines. I am using an ATI Radeon 9550 with the proprietary drivers installed from synaptic. as for step by step instructions I just open my email and view a message. The fact that he probably left out though is that it happens in the windows Live mail which I have been using since the beta. the classic view (as they call it) doesn't have this problem. let me know what commands output you need or any other info and I will be glad to provide it

yes but only if you bring up a menu that would cause the window manager to call the draw method of the firefox window or open one of the M$ menus on the webpage itself, they stay if you only click the file menu in firefox, also if you scroll up and down they come right back (although I can't recall if that is every time). oh and yes I forgot to mention they are over the whole message in the message pane, it is easier to see them if you get messages from best buy where the background is all blue :). but if you have a trained eye you could notice that lines are the reason the text looks garbled even without graphics as a guide. I tried to make a screenshot with the Print Screen key but it redrew the *$&% window before it took the screenshot?!?!?! ugh oh well, I'll try other methods, actually instead of making this another google crusade (takes hours usually) I will just shoot it with my camera :D

This is broken for me, as well, on Windows XP Pro SP2 and Vista Ultimate. Both machines are using NVIDIA cards. I'm using "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.11) Gecko/20071127 Firefox/2.0.0.11".

I've attached the requested screen shot. To do this, I just:

1) Navigated to hotmail
2) Logged in
3) opened an email
4) Scrolled down.

It occurs if I scroll down with the mouse wheel, or by dragging the mouse along the scroll bar's thumb track.

If I force the window to repaint (by dragging it off screen and then back on, or by obscuring it) it comes back just fine, so maybe the problem is an off-by-one in the Y direction in a call to ScrollWindow().

Please let me know if you need any other details; I hope this can be fixed as it's very annoying -- and even more annoying, now that I know the team has been aware of the problem for some months.

This used to happen to me too, but hasn't for a LONG time now. Please feel free to reopen if the problem is still being experienced.
