No sound after clean Feisty install (worked in Edgy)

Bug Description
I did a clean install of Feisty on Toshiba A110-133 laptop after having several previous versions of Ubuntu. Even though I never had sound problems before, this time sound doesn't work. I booted 6.06 from cd (sound works) and compared its aplay -l output to Feisty's.
