Binary package hint: gnome-panel

these may or may not be related, but when i add applets to the gnome panel,
they do not persist between login sessions.
profiles added to gnome-terminal are also lost between login sessions

Thanks for reporting. Could you please attach the file [~/gnome2/session] please. Check whether in your session option 'Automatically save changes to session' is set or not.

 thanks for the reply. i suspect that the problem is my fault. i am migrating from fedora and
 did some questionable things in an attempt to preserve my home directory. i think that it
 was a permissions problem. i did a more sensible thing by copying the stuff i care about to the
 side, creating an ubuntu environment, then moving my stuff back in. things now seem to be
 functioning in a sensible way. sorry for the bother.
