Bug Description

the background of the dialog is supposed to be gray with white text not whiteish with white text

i have reproduced this on 3 systems today

this seems to be a acceptable workaround

sudo sed -i 's/Greybird/Blackbird/' /etc/lightdm/lightdm-gtk-greeter.conf

Thanks for taking the time to report the bug.
It is a known problem that will get fixed with the next package-update of shimmer-themes. (The reason for the problem simply being that this version of Greybird was targetting a different version of lightdm-gtk-greeter than ended up in Raring.)

I just pushed a fix for this to git. If you want to test it, simply grab the lightdm-gtk-greeter.css file from here:
https://raw.github.com/shimmerproject/Greybird/master/gtk-3.0/apps/lightdm-gtk-greeter.css

then save it in /usr/share/themes/Greybird/gtk-3.0/apps/ and log out.

sudo service lightdm restart # should run this one from a tty

Just one more comment on why this issue really needs to be fixed: the code currently in Raring styles the widget named #menubar in lightdm-gtk-greeter. Unfortunately I wasn't aware of the fact at the time that some applications name their menubar-widgets "menubar", so my styling was too generic and in its current form also gets applied on other applications, e.g. gnome-terminal.

Furthermore there were some proposed changes for the lightdm-gtk-greeter which in the end didn't make it to Raring and which my code was designed for.

Having visual regressions in the greeter gives quite a bad first impression, so please upload the fixed version. Thanks a lot in advance!
