Burkhard,

Thanks for reporting the crash. However this report is a little confusing. Have you filed a complete bug report elsewhere? If so this bug can be closed in favour of the full report. If not can you give some more information here. There is nothing in this report we can use to diagnose and fix the problem. It would be a big help if you could report any error messages you observed, a traceback if you got one and the log files from /var/log/installer/partman and /var/log/installer/syslog.

thanks,
Richard

Hallo Richard

this the only repord which kubuntu told me, sorry im a beginner in yousing kubuntu. Some time ago I used Linux and I thought its easy to use Kubuntu.

Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "/usr/bin/ubiquity", line 166, in ?
    main()
  File "/usr/bin/ubiquity", line 161, in main
    install(sys.argv[1])
  File "/usr/bin/ubiquity", line 57, in install
    ret = wizard.run()

    self.process_step()
  File "/usr/lib/ubiquity/ubiquity/frontend/kde-ui.py", line 828, in
process_step
    self.progress_loop()
  File "/usr/lib/ubiquity/ubiquity/frontend/kde-ui.py", line 602, in
progress_loop
    raise RuntimeError, ("Install failed with exit code %s; see "
RuntimeError: Install failed with exit code None; see /var/log/syslog

more can I not say about the Problem. The dektop version is running on the PC without problems. I think ther is a problem with the internet topical.
Sorry, my english is not the best .

Many greats

Burkhard

Hi Burkhard,

Thanks for providing the traceback message. If you look in the folder /var/log/installer you should see two files called syslog and partman. These are logfiles the installer creates as a record of the operation. If you could attach those files to this report that will help to identify the source of the problem.

thanks,
Richard
