Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-terminal

When there are two tags in the gnome-terminal and the tags are maximised, a newly opened tag will have its background solid in color instead of transparent.
The color will keep solid until the terminal is moved.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Maximise the gnome-terminal
2. Open a new tag
3. Open a new tag again
The first two tags opened have their backgrounds transparent but the third one does not.

Thank you for your bug. What do you call "tag"? a tab? The bug doesn't happen on my desktop, to confirm and send upstream by somebody else

Yes, I mean "tab". Sorry for the misspelling.

This bug does not always happen, but it usually happens when I am using vim.
I will report again if I have any new findings.

Thank you very much.

Letting the bug unconfirmed, not easy to work on it without a way to trigger the error

I found that the bug happened when wireshark(as root) is opened.
Please try if you can reproduce it.
Thank you.

It doesn't happen on my gutsy. Does it happen every time when wireshark is running? Do you use compiz? Does it happen only when using a transparent background?

It happens every time when wireshark is running in my feisty without compiz.

I tried to repeat the bug in terminal with a nontransparent image. The bug still happens, but the second tab becomes solid instead of the the third.

My feisty is upgraded from dapper, does it make a difference? This bug did not happen when I was in dapper and edgy.

Thank you.

The upgrade should not make any difference, maybe it's due to your configuration though. I've just tried on an Ubuntu 7.04 CD and it doesn't happen there

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue for you with Hardy? Thanks in advance.
