Bug Description

Binary package hint: kde-guidance

I use NIS for student logins. NIS requires a line '+::::::' to work at the end of /etc/passwd and '+:::' at the end of /etc/group. These lines are causing userconfig to crash. When I remove them, uesrconfig works fine. Problem is, I need them for NIS. Not sure what to do at this point.

I thought it was fixed. Everything seems to be working with authentication. However, I cannot get yppasswd working on server. I am upgrading the server this summer (I am a teacher) and will report back in September if it still does not work.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. The issue that you reported is one that should be reproducible with the live environment of the Desktop CD of the newest release - Karmic Koala. It would help us greatly if you could test with it so we can work on getting it fixed in the next release of Ubuntu. Thanks again and we appreciate your help.
