Bug Description

Binary package hint: openoffice.org

My environment is Ubuntu Feisty Fawn with Gnome and OpenOffice 2.0
I can't open a MsWord XP file. When I click FILE-OPEN-xxx.doc, the Openoffice File Editor closes itself.
Are there some special configuration on TOOLS-OPTIONS-... to do?
Using Ubuntu Dapper with OpenOffice everything goes ok.
Thank you all.
Ramiro.

Can you obtain a crashlog from OpenOffice? This behavior does not occur on my test system, so perhaps it isn't an OpenOffice issue.

No, p3net.
I can't obtain a crashlog because I don't know how.
I saw SYSTEM - ADMINISTRATION - SYSTEM LOG on ubuntu feisty-fawn and there are nothing.
My OO has this configuration on my machine. Please, take a look:

Gentlemen,
I did a dramatic command, after testing another possibilities, like this...
STEP 1:
[ramirojr@freijose::~]$ sudo aptitude purge openoffice.org-help-en-us openoffice.org-help-pt openoffice.org-help-pt-br openoffice.org-l10n-common openoffice.org-java-common openoffice.org-l10n-en-gb openoffice.org-l10n-en-za openoffice.org-l10n-pt openoffice.org-l10n-pt-br openoffice.org-thesaurus-en-us
STEP 2:
As you can see, I removed every parts including differente versions of OpenOffice.org.... 2.2.0.2-Ubuntu3 (including helps and others using .pt and .pt-br). As you can see, also, this command removes the ubuntu-desktop -> Well, we have jesus with us!!!!
STEP 3:
After this, I made:
sudo aptitude install openoffice.org
followed by
sudo aptitude install ubuntu-desktop
STEP 4:
after a sincere pray (!) I shoutdown my machine and...
ubuntu feisty starts again with no problems! (this is my ubuntu, thtat accepts all my madness)
STEP 5:
I started OpenOffice Text Editor - now in English, finally.
STEP 6:
Its time to try to open a .doc (ms-word file)
Nothing!
The same problem: I Can't open a .doc file.
STEP 7:
This is the new situation on my machine:

Problem SOLVED.
The solution is:
STEP 1:
Take this command:
--> sudo aptitude purge openoffice.org-common openoffice.org-core openoffice.org2 openoffice.org-help-en-us openoffice.org-help-pt-br openoffice.org-l10n-common openoffice.org-l10n-en-gb openoffice.org-l10n-en-us openoffice.org-l10n-en-za openoffice.org-l10n-pt-br
STEP 2:
Take this command:
--> sudo aptitude install broffice.org (in my case, I used to instal BROffice, but I think that OpenOffice would be solved too)
STEP 3:
Take this command:
--> sudo aptitude install ubuntu-desktop

These 3 steps seems to recover that error occurred as 5953 - WARNING, described on the latest comment.
I would like to ask YOU (forum moderator) to close this Report Bug 121373 as solved, but I would like to inform you that my solution was a dramatic way. I don't now what occurs, before, about that "inconsistency detected by ld.so" - why this library failed - is a mistery.
Thank you all and I do apologize.
Ramiro.
