I'm inclined to reject the patch as it currently is. The changes make perfect sense, it's just that all the translations are still broken.

E.g.:
daniel@bert:~/iso-codes-1.2$ grep -r Rasserine * | wc -l
64
daniel@bert:~/iso-codes-1.2$

I think it'd be better to forward the bug report upstream (Debian in this case) and get a new release rolled and broken translations removed.

I agree with you. Forwarding it upstream to Debian seems like the logical thing to do.

Definitely. Please file a Debian bug on bugs.debian.org, as I doubt the Debian maintainer follows bugs on Launchpad.

I'm going to unsubscribe ubuntu-main-sponsors from this, per Daniel's comments.

This seems to have been fixed some time ago (no later than iso-codes 3.2-1) in Debian, and Ubuntu's iso-codes is in sync with Debian, so I'm closing both tasks. I checked over Nathan's patch and all the changes are included in the current package.

status: New → Fix Released
status: Incomplete → Fix Released
