Bug Description

Binary package hint: rhythmbox

when I use the scroll wheel Rythmbox's 'tray Icon' it adjusts the volume in a very course resolution, When I do the same thing with the volume control inside Rythmbox, the resolution is perfect!

I find it annoying that they are not both the same.

What action do you do on the rhythmbox icon to change the volume?

Hover the mouse over the volume icon, either in the system notification area
or on the toolbar of Rhythmbox, and then use the scroll wheel on my mouse to
increase/decrease the volume.

Is that the information you were looking for?

Could you make a screenshot of the notification area icon you are using? The rhythmbox icon doesn't do anything with the volume, are you sure you don't speak about the mixer icon rather?

gah! I thought I posted this a month ago, sorry about the delay!

Red arrow : Notification area icon (course and not so perfect)
Blue Arrow : Rythmox's volume control icon (smooth and perfect)

Yes, you can actually change the volume by scrolling your mouse wheel in the rhythmbox tray icon, this probably will be cut off for future releases please: http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=349280

This seems to be fixed. Can anyone confirm?

Hardy 8.04 when using the icon in rhythmbox, the volume is adjusted by 2% for each 'click' of the scroll wheel. When using the tray icon, it is adjusted by 10%.

I finally submitted a patch upstream to fix this, but I need someone with super-cow powers to apply it to the tree.

My first patch. :)
