Bug Description
Not sure if this is a bug or wishlist:
When a hold gets cancelled but not pulled from the holds shelf and scanned for redistribution, the item status is "This item is not captured for a hold, however it's status is incorrectly set to "On Holds Shelf". Please check this item in to correct the status."
If staff do not have the item in hand, they would not want to check the item in. Staff have no way of finding which library the item was on the holds shelf or who the patron was. The issue is the item cannot physically be located and the item status gives no help in determining the physical location of the item. Seeing the cancelled holds on an item would give staff a starting place to look for the item in question.
Thanks, Dawn

So, view hold shelf of the current library where an item has been canceled or whatnot will show the hold with a status of canceled. Clicking on that to show the item status will lead me to the holds/transits tab where I see the message about the incorrect status.
I think the issue is that the only place where the current_shelf_lib is defined is in action. hold_request, which has a link to the copy you're checking via the current_copy field. Maybe if item status were to show canceled hold information somehow...
Either way, marking bug confirmed.
