If you try to import using gphoto2 directly you get the error

Exactly the same is with Kodak DX6490. The only thing that could be done
was downloading thumbnails with gtkam.

All gphoto-based apps work fine for me connecting to a Sony DSC-P30 in PTP
mode; since the problems appear to be specific to Kodak hardware, I don't
think there's any reason to consider this bug "grave".

I've got a kodak dx6340. Doesnt work under breezy either, if I can help test
something please specify how i can help.

I am using Kodak Easyshare C360. It has a sandisk SD card and used to work great in Breezy. It does not work in Dapper however. More details can be seen in this picture: http://img95.imageshack.us/img95/9119/cameraerror9hu.jpg

Yes, I have this camera and I experience this problem.

Sometimes I can import pictures, but removing them afterwards never works.

Also the camera is slow to be recognised and identified, it used to be almost instant when I used Gentoo a couple of years back.

Anil: this is a different bug (see bug 34077)

If you experience the problems, please also confirm the bug.

Bug 39409 might be related.

I can confirm this bug on the Kodak V603 and F-Spot (the GNOME default thumbnail thingie can import). After doing a bit of research, I was led to a newer version of libgphoto2. By backporting 2.1.99 from Debian Experimental, I resolved this issue.

Fixed in edgy.
