The same error appears twice in succession while upgrading python3-gi on 14.04 this evening (2/25/14):

I'll wait a bit and see what happens to this bug report before filing a separate one for python3-gi.

I think this is no longer a bug. This is related to Python issue 19021 and all fixes were cherry picked into 3.4.0, which Trusty and Utopic have. If you are still able to reproduce it, please reopen the bug and provide a recipe on whichever version of Ubuntu you're using. Thanks!
