Almost added another bug, but I think mine is the same.
At the same time... while my laptop was falling off of my lap!!! My ethernet cable fell out of the connector and the power cord pulled out too.
I saw a corrupted graphic of some kind of bubble alert, and then an auto-generated problem report.

No way to duplicate that, right!?

Just thought it might be useful.

Attached is a debdiff fixing this bug and unbreaking the build. Use "patch -E" to properly 05_dont_crash_on_critical_warnings.patch.

notification-daemon (0.3.7-1ubuntu5) gutsy; urgency=low

  * 01_ubuntu_theme.patch:
    - Fix countdown notifications too. Closes LP: #129120.
    - Use gtk_widget_ensure_style instead of gtk_widget_realize.
  * Refreshed intltool. Unbreak the build!
  * Removed 05_dont_crash_on_critical_warnings.patch
