Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Do you use SCIM?, may you tell us the steps to reproduce this bug?, thanks in advance.

For me, it happened like this:
- Launch the computer, scim should be launched on startup
- right-click on scim and exit

-> Crash

Cristophe is correct, and closing SCIM will give me this crash.

I don't usually run SCIM, because I have no need for it, but when I switched to Gnome from KDE it began starting automatically. Apparently I had closed it when I was typing the email in thunderbird.

It is known that killing the XIM server program often crashes the X application (which would be an XIM client). It applies to all XIM servers, not only scim. I don't think this bug should be assigned to (only) scim.

It also only happens for XIM mode. Scim provides other input method modes that don't have this problem.

We are wondering if this is still an issue. Can you try it with the latest Ubuntu release? Thanks in advance.
