Bug Description

Binary package hint: ubiquity

During manual partitioning problem occured which crashed all instalation, I wanted to make a new partition ext3... I have made before 2 parts for Windows.. and secondly I choose a partition for Linux(ext3) during making the partition the problem occured and blocked all the further instalation..!!

Going through the log files, it does look like a Python error in the partitioner where ext3 is selected but it was expecting none. Don't know if this has been fixed in newer distros.

I will tell you that this problem is nothing, if you have Asus p5 pro
Motherboard you can't install no linux operating system...and this is the
biggest problem I Have nowadays..!!

I do not see any reason why this should be specific to a certain motherboard. However, it does not happen to everyone.

Buy this kind of motherboard and we will talk... as far as this I can say
that nobody on Forums... and Linux Chat can help with this problem...even
USB Linux won't work... and I will tell you way because Linux does'nt see
Cd-rom drive either many of my perphe... on ATA and SATA...second problem is
my graphics card which is ATI.. I think not compatible with linux...

This discussion is not helpful, in any event. We'll figure out the traceback on its own merits; worrying about the motherboard is unlikely to help.

It has been over 6 years since this was reported and much has changed in that time. Given the age and lack of a way to reproduce it on a current release I'm closing this report.
