Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. I cannot reproduce this, if i enter a :) i get the same in the composer. Lets see if someone else can reproduce this. thanks in advance.

Although this bug has already been reported I can't find referance to it so I leave my notes here. I to have this problem. After asking on #evolution I was informed by kjetilho that this bug has been fixed by mbarnes. Will we be seeing a patch anytime soon?
