The following occurred in my attempt to upgrade from Ubuntu 13.10 to 14.04

Errors were encountered while processing:
 sa-compile
Error in function:

A fatal error occurred

This is a pretty old bug however I notice there are 24 users marked affected, so I'm guessing this was not merely a local configuration setting but a legit issue.

I notice the arch for this was i386 so wonder if the issue is particular to that? i386 is not as actively supported these days, so if so this may be an obsolete problem.

Has anyone experienced this on more recent versions of Ubuntu?
