Bug Description

Hello,

I have now made 3 installs from kubuntu 7.04 Alternate but in all installs I could not continue installation with the 4 partitions I created. I install Kubuntu7.04 Alternate on a number of older desktops, with processors in the Pentium 1-2 range and hard disks in the 1.2- 6.4 GB range, for middel aged (11-14 yr old) schoolkids. In order to prevent booting problems and to ease reinstalls I want to create the following partions:
100 MB for /boot
1.6 GB for /home
4.0 GB for /
500 MB for swap
I can correctly manual create these partitions but are unable to finish the installation because every installation menu item I select, after manual partitioning, brings me again into the partitioning process. The (only) way to finish installation is to select a guided partitioning for the whole drive but than I end up with only a / partition and a swap partition.

Regards,
                  Frans

Please attach /var/log/syslog and /var/log/partman to this bug. You can extract them from the running installer by using the "Save debug logs" item on the installer's main menu.

Hello,

To prepare for the requested attachments, I made a new install and this time I was able to finish installation after i made the manual partitioning. So this bug note can be closed.
Most probably I had overlooked the option on the next (scrolldown) page to write the final partitioning to the disk. In my memory I used, in my earlier installations, the back button that I had also used to create the 2, 3 and 4th partition. This also explains why the system took me again into the partitioning process.

Sorry

Regards, Frans
