The package name is " /home/rick/com.ubuntu.developer.no launchpad user id configured..morningdew_0.1_all.click" and it shows that the tool could not get the launchpad ID.

In the Publish page the Maintainer field should hold your "Real Name <and email address>" just as `bzr whoami` returns from the terminal.

The package name's 4th field (com.ubuntu.developer.[launchpad ID].[app name]) has the value what `bzr launchpad-login` returns.

The bzr login helps: `bzr launchpad-login rick-rickspencer3`

Anyhow a proped warning about the missing maintainer field will be added to the packaging.

So comment #2 doeds not seem to have described the issue.

I switched the framework to ubuntu-sdk-14.10-qml-dev1 and got slightly different output. Maybe this is helpful:

QML module does not contain information about components contained in plugins

in the plugin of 5/27 I get the following using a new qml project:

We have 2 different problems here, the problem Pat reported is already fixed: https://bugs.launchpad.net/qtcreator-plugin-ubuntu/+bug/1327066. It came up because the launcher was renamed from UpstartAppLaunch to UbuntuAppLaunch.

@Rick could you please upload your project somewhere so we can try to reproduce the problem.
Also please check the output of: 'bzr launchpad-login' which is used to create the package name and
also '/usr/share/qtcreator/ubuntu/scripts/qtc_bzr_info'.
