Bug Description

I'm using Gutsy and I updated my system about 30 minutes ago.
I read on the Tribe 5 release notes about the option to install Firefox plugins from the add/remove application. I tried to install the Launchpad integration plugin when Firefox was running, expecting to be asked to restart it, but I just got a message saying the plugin was installed. I checked on Firefox but didn't see this plugin on the Addons list. I restarted Firefox and it still wasn't there. I closed Firefox and removed the plugin from Add/remove applications, re-installed it, but it's still not there.
I checked if the Add/remove app works at all by installing Dia, which worked perfectly. Then I checked if the plugin was installed by mistake on Gran Paradiso, but it's not there either.

This is not a firefox bug or a firefox supported package due to that i assigned it to the correct package.

Same problem with Gutsy 7.10 final.

I just tried this on amd64 Gutsy Desktop. When I install software using Firefox: Addons: Get Ubuntu Addons, they are no longer shown as available for install but are not installed either.

This plugin adds search engines and that's why Firefox don't show it in Addons list. Click on a down arrow in Firefox search bar to see that this package is installed.

Tested on Ubuntu 8.04.

This appears to still be a valid issue. Curious to see if this could be investigated before release of Lucid?

Addition to prior comment - the note in #4 should be added in some manner to the documentation of this plugin , possibly here? :
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/firefox-launchpad-plugin/0.4

Also, the maintainers of this package's URL appears to be dead.

The current description of the package reads as follows:

Description: Launchpad firefox integration
Mozilla Firefox Launchpad integration adds quick search for:
  - A bug number on Launchpad
  - Ubuntu bugs on Launchpad
  - Ubuntu package bugs on Launchpad
  - Ubuntu specifications on Launchpad
  - Ubuntu packages on Launchpad
  - Ubuntu support tickets on Launchpad
  - People and teams on Launchpad

Is the term "quick search" an insufficient indicator as to where one can find the search options?

Ive installed xubuntu 9.10 3days ago and installed run this line
sudo aptitude update && sudo aptitude install adblock-plus google-chrome-beta ntfs-config flashplugin-installer firefox-launchpad-plugin
as u can see that installs adblock-plus and firefox-launchpad-plugin witch are firefox addons.
Adblock plus works fine but launchpad plugin didnt came up so this affects only launchpad plugin

Looks like "Incomplete" is not correct - it's a Documentation issue, not a bug.
Brian, agree?
