Bug Description

There is a very nice looking theme called Aurora available here http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php/Aurora+Gtk+Engine?content=56438 (it is GPL) As far as I can tell it has not been packaged for Ubuntu and there are no needs-packaging bugs for it already, so I am filing this. My initial impressions of it are very good, and it even incorporates recolouring (from the Appearance tool) which I haven't seen other engines use yet. It makes quite nice eye-candy too :)

I also think that this GTK Engine must be in the Ubuntu Packages. In fact in this page https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Artwork/Incoming/GutsyIdeas someone puts an idea to use aurora adapted to use Human Theme as default theme for Ubuntu and looks really nice and modern.

Aurora engine didn't hit the repos yet, maybe take a look here: http://software.opensuse.org/search?q=gtk2-engines-aurora&baseproject=ALL&p=1
You'll find packages for Feisty, but Gutsy is fine too.

Thanks for linking the DEB and uploading it. I, too think that this should be entered into the Ubuntu repositories. It is, after all, the only Gtk2 Engine I've seen with animation capability.

Packages uploaded to REVU:

 - http://revu.tauware.de/details.py?package=blended-themes
 - http://revu.tauware.de/details.py?package=gtk2-engines-aurora
 - http://revu.tauware.de/details.py?package=aurora-themes

Also, I have a bzr branch up with these sources and a script that can be used to create the source packages, build the resulting source packages, and then install them on the system in order. To get that, run:

  $ bzr branch http://fd0man.theunixplace.com/aurora-ubuntu

You can then build/install the packages manually, or you can use the build-all.sh script which does that for you.

Removing assignment to myself, as my work on this has been completed pending review of the packages.

What's up with this? I'll gladly package it if someone'll point me to a guide.
I really want this to be included, it's a great engine...

Hi together. I am searching for a package of the gtk-engines-aurora for Ubuntu 10.04. Is there a possibility to get this here? I have found several nicce Metacity-thems on http://gnome-look.org, which need the Aurora-gtk-engine. I have looked up in my Synaptic, but it's not in it. So I would apreciate a .deb-Package for Ubuntu 10.04.

Thank you in advance.

Greetings
Linuxexperte
