Bug Description

Binary package hint: adept

I was sure this must have reported already but I can't find it. As of version 2.1.3ubuntu14, the description field is still showing the maintainer of the package and not the description.

From duplicate 138801: title of the field is wrong in German localisation (confirmed in i386 and amd64 architecture).

Looks very similar to bug #133801, with the difference that with the German localisation the title of the field is also wrong.
Are you on an AMD64 system too?

Looks very similar except it's not mime-type on mine. Am also on AMD64.

Changing to Medium as the default Adept Manager view functionality is affected and provides no description of packages to (new) users.

I think it is better to clarify that we have two different problems:

bug 133801 reports:

wrong title (with german localisation, i386 and x86_64). Also seen in korganizer

wrong content (only on x86_64)

This bug is only concerned with the wrong content (only seen on x86_64). I would therefore reopen 133801 or open a new bug about the localisation issue (which is not the subject of this bug).

I have a problem which is likely related to this bug. At least, it has to do with the description field in Adept.

On my box (A core duo centrino VAIO notebook with 1.5GB ram) the description field sometimes contains not the maintainer of the package but a valid description from a completely different package. On a search for mozart, for example, it pulled in the package mpeg2dec with the description field from mozart-stdlib. I have attached a snapshot of the window.
