contacts app crashes if contact saved before thumbnail is generated

Bug Description

The contacts app crashes if I try to save a contact before its photo thumbnail is done being generated.

This one is easy to reproduce:
- Create a contact. Save it.
- Go back to that contact, and edit it.
- Add a picture from the camera.
- Hit the checkmark (save button) quickly, before the thumbnail is complete.

Actual results: Contacts app crashes.

Expected results: Contact is saved and thumbnail creation continues in the background. Or the app will wait until the thumbnail is done then proceed to save the contact. Either way works.

This was on krillin rtm image 58.
