Bug Description

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-driver-nv

X server hard-restarted back to GDM at seemingly random point of time (I was switching desktops when it happened)

I was running the following software at the time:

- Firefox (was experimenting with Gnash plug-in for first time...)
- Gnome Terminal
- Exaile music player
- Emesene messenger

The included Xorg log provides a backtrace and the following error:

Fatal server error:
Caught signal 11. Server aborting

This has only occurred once for me so far. I suspect the nv driver and/or Gnash (as this was the first time I installed and used Gnash on this system), although this is pure speculation.

Seems to be a mesa problem. Do you still have this problem with 7.10?

Unfortunately I switched to the "nvidia" driver since this bug. I can confirm I haven't had this problem since upgrading to 7.10, but this is tainted since I'm using the proprietory driver now.

I will switch to the NV driver this weekend and see if I can reproduce the crash. Thanks for your response.

No reply, closing the bug. If you still can reproduce it with 8.04, feel free to reopen. Thanks!
