Bug Description

Binary package hint: apport

When I try to upload an apport report, i get a dialog that says:

Could not upload report data to crash database:

<urlopen error (32, 'Broken pipe')>

and of course the upload fails.

This is on up-to-date gutsy.

This could be a transient Launchpad problem. Does it still happen? If not, are you using a proxy?

Changed in apport:
status: New → Invalid
status: Invalid → Incomplete

It is in fact an artifact of apport trying to POST to an https:// url. Squid3 does not support https:// posts. I tend to think most proxies don't as the right way to interact with an SSL website via a proxy is to use the CONNECT method.

Ah, proxy, thanks for pointing this out. I marked it as a dup of the already existing proxy bug. Thank you!
