Bug Description

Binary package hint: debian-installer

I try to install ubuntu from 2007-09-17 desktop-i386 iso in a dell xps1330
The installer says 120% completed at installing language packs --- configuring hardware ...

There isnt network or HD activity. Its 2 hours since then. I have tried 2 times from the start

Note, though, that unionfs is known to be broken in Gutsy at the moment. As such, installing from the desktop CD at the moment is I suspect largely doomed to failure, and I'm surprised you got as far as you did.

Yes, with all the unionfs bug dumps in there this is likely bug 138915.

In the meantime, you can use the alternate install CD.
