Bug Description

Binary package hint: lirc

I've just installed tribe 5 amd64 and dist-upgraded to current.

I've installed lirc and chose "ATI/NVidia/Snapstream X10 RF (userspace)". However, ati_remote.ko is still loaded. Furthermore, it is not blacklisted in /etc/modprobe.d/lirc:

laga@prometheus:~/tmp/linux-ubuntu-modules-2.6.22-2.6.22$ cat /etc/modprobe.d/lirc
#File automatically generated upon lirc install
#Because a module had to be blacklisted. Don't
#Modify by hand, but rather via
#dpkg-reconfigure lirc
blacklist lirc_atiusb

It'd be nice if ati_remote.ko was blacklisted and unloaded automatically.

Can you further expand upon this?

If you choose the kernel lirc driver,
ati_remote.ko needs to be blacklisted.

If you choose the userspace lirc driver,
ati_remote.ko *and* lirc_atiusb need to be blacklisted?

Is this correct?
