‘Show’ does not switch to the proper tab

Bug Description

Binary package hint: pidgin-libnotify

pidgin-libnotify 0.13-0ubuntu2 fixed the ‘Show’ button to actually switch to the conversation window, but does not show the right tab (if the active tab shows some other conversation). This with pidgin 1:2.2.0-1ubuntu1.

Is this symptom still reproducible in 8.10 RC or later?

Actually, with current Intrepid (pidgin 1:2.5.2-0ubuntu1 and pidgin-libnotify 0.13-0ubuntu2) the ‘Show’ button again does not work; neither the tab, the window, nor the workspace is being switched.

Note that the above is with clean Intrepid install, albeit with Visual Effects enabled (i.e., Compiz). I might’ve been using vanilla Metacity when reporting this bug (and that why it might’ve switched windows, while it does not switch them now).
