"CellWriter is a grid-entry natural handwriting input panel. As you write characters into the cells, your writing is instantly recognized at the character level. When you press Enter on the panel, the input you entered is sent to the currently focused application as if typed on the keyboard."

This is a fantastic replacement for Onboard/GOK as it not only has character recognition, but also onscreen keyboard modes. It was very easy to teach it my chicken-scratch and fun to use. The author of the progam has already packaged this as a .deb that works nicely in Gutsy! <--see link in original message
