Bug Description

Notifications show too many missed calls: When I miss one day a call and the next day again there are 2 missed calls in the notifications but I asked the caller and it was only one. The standard call app shows only one, too. On the third day there were even three missed calls in the notifications. But there was only one missed call this day.

So it seems that the notifications are not really reset but add up to all together: One call a day ends up in three reported calls at day three - for the (really) same caller. No other calls were between, so you can better reconstruct it.

It is a problem because it is confusing not to know when and how often you received a missed call.

Thank you for your bug report. Do you get a call every day? If so after 3 days you missed 3 calls so the label seems correct ...
Or do you get a call on day 1, then nothing anymore but the count increase daily?
You are speaking about the messaging menu right (the envelop icon in the top bar)?

Yes I got one call every day for three days. Yes I speak about the envelop in the top bar. But I have to highlight that I delete all notifications instantly. So I expect not missed three calls but only one call: Get first call - notification for one call is correct - delete the notifications - next call receiving - there should be a notice about one (new) missed call but there are two...and at the next call three and so on. This is not what we would expect or not?

It's no "duplicate of bug #1473029" because the message appears only once - but shows still more missed calls (e.g. 2 instead of 1 from the same caller).

I confirm this bug. The missed call counter for a caller is not reset not only when the value was seen, but not even in the case I call back. In the first case it would be probably acceptable (depend on opinion), but in the second case, hitting the calllback button should definitely reset the counter.
