Binary package hint: update-manager
I'm using the 64Bit server version of ubuntu with the xubuntu-desktop. After upgrade from from feisty to gutsy tribe 5, (deinstalling amarok and the kde-packages needed for amarok), with trying to do "apt-get dist-upgrade" I get the error message "Could not calculate the upgrade - An unresolvable problem occured while calculating the upgrade. Please report this bug against the 'update-manager' package and include the following error message: 'E: Error, pkgProblemResol
The shell tells me, that the following packages have unresolved dependencies: transcode: Depends: xterm but it is not going to be installed or x-terminal-emulator
xbase-clients: Depends: xclock but it is not going to be installed, Depends: xfd but it is not going to be installed, Depends: xlogo but it is not going to be installed
What can I do ? I'm new to Linux and Ubuntu (one year) and do not know how to solve the dependencies. Since it tells me that it is a bug I report it here.
Following commands do NOT fix the problem:
apt-get --fix-broken install
dpkg --configure -a
