skencil.py crashed with SIGSEGV in free() (Ubuntu 7.10 beta)

Binary package hint: skencil

(This is the first time i report a bug using apport, so forgive me if files and info are missing.)
Installed skencil as suggested package for Inkscape.
On first start there seemed to be no activity for a few seconds, then a report pops up about a segfault.
OS: Ubuntu 7.10 Beta
Processor: AMD Sempron 2800+
Kernel: 2.6.22.12-generic
Memory: 1GB
